Invisalign® is an invisible way to straighten teeth without the need for metal braces, utilising instead, a series of clear, plastic “aligners” which slowly move teeth over time. So, if you are searching for an aesthetic and comfortable way to straighten your teeth and improve your smile, then we are an ideal choice for you to have Invisalign in Salisbury.
Invisalign works to correct your teeth through a series of invisible, removable, and comfortable plastic aligners.
After treatment planning and identifying treatment goals the radiographs, photographs and dental impressions of the patient’s teeth are sent to the The Invisalign® laboratories with a prescription for treatment. The dental impressions are then scanned into a computer to make 3-D models of teeth and gums. An advanced computer software is then used by the technician to move the digital images of teeth according to the prescription from the dentist. The software then simulates this movement in stages, moving different teeth, slowly and at different times until the final result is achieved. The dentist can then check this simulation and make any changes to make sure that they are happy with the proposed correction before the personalized set of aligners are made.
The Invisalign® laboratories then use a laser scanning technology, whereby a laser beam follows the pattern of digital information from the computer and solidifies liquid resin layer by layer, to produce the plastic aligners which represent each tooth movement generated by the computer software.
The aligners are worn sequentially and each aligner moves teeth incrementally and is worn for about two weeks, then replaced by the next in the series until the final position is achieved and teeth are straightened and smile improved.
Your first consultation
At your initial complimentary consultation Dr Parson will discuss your needs and evaluate whether Invisalign is right for you. He will also discuss with you the estimate time it would take and the costs.
Your customized treatment plan
Once you decide to go ahead a scan of your teeth using digital scanner will be done or impressions will be made. Photographs will be taken of your teeth and facial profile. A precise treatment plan will be made by Dr Parson. Invisalign will then send a Clincheck which is a 3D simulation of how your teeth are going to be moved to get the correct alignment.
You will get to see the Clincheck and visualize how your teeth will move and preview your new smile.
Invisalign clear aligner production
Once you approve the final smile your aligners will be produced in USA. It takes about 2 weeks to get the aligners produced and shipped.
Starting your invisalign treatment
Aligners will be given to you in batches of 3-6 depending on the complexity of the case. You will be reviewed every 4-6 weeks to make sure the teeth are moving as determined. You will have to wear the aligners 20-22 hours daily. Each aligner will have to be replaced with the next one every 2 weeks to begin with and later weekly.
Completion of treatment and giving retainers.
Once the new smile is achieved and treatment is completed you can get your teeth whitened if you want to get that dazzling white and perfect smile which you always wanted. Retainers will be given to maintain the newly aligned teeth in position
For many people, the answer is yes. Whether you think you've got a particularly tough case, or you're a teen and your teeth are still growing, see what Invisalign treatment could do for you.
Healthier teeth and gums.
Crowded teeth can lead to swollen and red gums as cleaning between them is a difficult task. This can also lead to gum disease in the long term. When teeth are well aligned, they are easier to clean and floss. The invisalign clear aligners gently and gradually move the teeth into proper position- without the unsightly brackets and wires
Easier brushing and flossing
With braces, cleaning of all the food and plaque stuck around them becomes difficult and can possibly lead to tooth decay if not careful. With Invisalign, since the aligners are removable, brushing and flossing is easy.
Overall Health and well being
Tooth decay and gum disease are caused by bacteria leading to bad breath, gum disease, and possible tooth loss. It has also been proven scientifically that oral infections can also lead to other serious aliments such as ,strike, heat disease, and diabetes.
Invisalign aligners are removable so it is easy to maintain a good oral hygiene thereby reducing such health risks. Correctly aligned teeth can also alleviate issues that can be caused by an improper bite, jaw pain and increased wear of the tooth enamel. Invisalign effectively addresses all these orthodontic issues, so you will have the confidence of a lovely smile and good oral health.
Though majority of treatments with Invisalign take from 6 months to 2 years to complete, some more complex treatments may take longer and involve more expense than traditional braces because of the need to fabricate a larger number of plastic aligners. The cost of Invisalign in Salisbury may range from £1500 to £3950 depending upon the complexity of the treatment.
